Aurora Orchestra in Ashford

Music that celebrates Ashford’s well-connected status is the inspiration for an exciting new partnership between Ashford Borough Council, Aurora and Orchestras Live.

The concert, the first at the new St Mary’s Arts Centre on October 1 at 7pm, is part of the Revealing Ashford initiative which aims to raise the profile of arts and culture in Ashford.

Ashford-based Matthew King’s new composition, Velocity, for Aurora, Wye Primary School cellos and Norton Knatchbull School big band will feature in the programme along with songs inspired by speed created and performed by children from St Mary’s Primary School led by John Barber and a world premiere virtuosic chamber arrangement by Iain Farrington of Gershwin’s An American in Paris.
