2017 concerts preview

There’s just so much amazing music coming up over the next few months it’s difficult to know where to start. World class soloists, unusual repertoire, world premieres and outstanding orchestras in places you wouldn’t expect them.  In association with our promoter partners in North Norfolk, Lincolnshire, East Riding of Yorkshire, Derbyshire, Wiltshire, Essex, Somerset, Shropshire and Gloucestershire, we have some exciting concerts lined up. No less than eight orchestras – London Sinfonietta, Sinfonia Viva, City of London Sinfonia, Academy of Ancient Music, European Union Chamber Orchestra, Academy of St Martin in the Fields, Orchestra of the Swan and Manchester Camerata – performing a diverse range of music from Mozart, Mendelssohn, Beethoven, Copland, Schoenberg, Elgar to Stravinsky, Harrison Birtwistle and Steve Reich with world class soloists including Angela Hewitt, Inon Barnatan and Alexandra Wood.

Wiltshire Music Centre also present the world premiere of Alasdair Nicolson’s new work for piano, trumpet and strings with Academy of St Martin in the Fields as well as LA Phil’s Inon Barnatan on the same bill, all in Bradford on Avon! A new work by Toby Young also features, and BBC Young Music of the Year finalist, french horn player Ben Goldscheider, makes an appearance with the European Union Chamber Orchestra at St James’ Church, Taunton.
