A Week in the Life…
We wanted to share with you a snapshot of our work all over the country at Orchestras Live. Partnership Managers, Jan Ford and Stuart Bruce spent an exceptionally busy week on the road recently, here’s an example of a few things they got up to.
Post-concert activities following Sinfonia Viva’s Relaxed concert in Chelmsford.
Reading, Berkshire: The full team of staff and trustees met in Reading for our Sound Around Relaxed performance with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at The Hexagon.
Sheringham, Norfolk: Stuart watched the London Mozart Players’ concert performing to the Mayor and a full church. Local young musicians joined in to perform a piece alongside the orchestra and brought the house down!
Chelmsford, Essex: Stuart attended a Relaxed Performance at the Civic Theatre with Sinfonia Viva.
Luton, Bedfordshire: Stuart took part in Luton Music Hub’s board meeting to discuss future plans for developing orchestral music in the area, including development of The Wish project .
Mansfield, Nottinghamshire: Stuart joined Able Orchestra for their recent workshops. See this amazing ensemble’s performance at the Royal Albert Hall as part of the BBC Proms in 2016 here.
Able Orchestra workshops in action in Mansfield.
Barrow, Cumbria: Jan joined local families and Manchester Camerata for the premiere of Mrs Maestro. A moving performance about memory, this was part of as part of the orchestra’s work pioneering dementia research.
Withernsea, East Riding of Yorkshire: Jan joined 30 care home residents in our Classically Yours projects as they took part in workshop activities. Read about earlier workshops as part of At Home in East Riding.
