Classic Takeover presents ‘Lifetime’
Classic Takeover presents ‘Lifetime – redefining the concert experience‘ at South Holland Centre in Spalding on Wednesday 26 November at 7.30pm.
The 90-minute concert features a unique collaboration between City of London Sinfonia and local singer-songwriters Alfie Jack and Tommy Loose and a programme of music by Mozart, Holst, Alfie Jack, Vaughan Williams, Tchaikovsky, Smetana, Mussorgsky, Tommy Loose, Handel and some spoken word created by Youth Takeover’s Callum Brazzo; a mixture of well known classics chosen and brand new compositions, created as a collaboration between the young musicians and members of City of London Sinfonia and arranged by John K. Miles.
Youth Takeover, a group of young producers, based in Spalding, were chosen to bring this ‘First Time Live’ event to Spalding, and the event will be run entirely by the members of Youth Takeover. Through a series of workshops with City of London Sinfonia, they have come up with a unique concept; to invite local young musicians and bands, which perform regularly for the group, to collaborate with the orchestra. Youth Takeover chose the acts according to those they felt would really benefit from such a fantastic opportunity. It is a great chance for the young musicians to expand their experience in the music industry, to really help develop them as artists and help them with their future careers.
The project partners are Orchestras Live, City of London Sinfonia, South Holland District Council, South Holland Centre, Lincolnshire One Venues and Arts Council England.
