Cardiff University student Emma Thorpe recently joined Orchestras Live on a placement as part of her ‘Business of Music’ course, where she observed our project The Wish with partners The Mix – Luton Music Service, Inspiring Music – Central Bedfordshire, Music for Bedford Borough and Milton Keynes Music Service.

Read Emma’s reflections on the project here.

Conductor and composer John K Miles and presenter Claire Henry were joined by Sinfonia Verdi and guest local young musicians to give nine performances at four venues across Bedfordshire, reaching more than 2,500 children.

I liked that the orchestra did exactly the same as us and we all sang together.

I would just like to say that even though this is the third year that we have been involved in the project, the magic of The Wish never diminishes. It is full of spectacle and wonder and is totally inspirational for the children of our diverse community who would never have the opportunity to participate in a concert with a professional orchestra.
