The Series & Events category, which is supported by Warner Classics, recognises a distinctive festival, themed series of performances, or truly unique performance event, presented in the UK.
Founded in 2014, JAM Festival has, for more than a decade, been committed to championing living composers, nurturing emerging talent, and placing new music at the heart of cultural life. The festival is widely recognised for promoting the work of young artists and composers, many of whom go on to become household names.
Having welcomed many of the UK’s most celebrated performers, ensembles and creative voices over the years, this commitment is clearly reflected in JAM’s annual festival line-up. Returning ensembles have included the BBC Singers and Britten Sinfonia, while returning composers have included Judith Bingham OBE and Tarik O’Regan.
This RPS Award shortlisting recognises JAM on the Marsh’s lasting contribution to the UK’s cultural ecology and its continued impact on audiences, artists and communities alike.
