Communications Officer (Maternity Cover)We’re looking for a self-motivated, organised, efficient and creative thinker.
Person Specification:
You don’t need to have a background of working in the orchestral sector to undertake this role. We’re more interested in your communication skills and creativity. We’re excited by people who bring different work and life experiences, perspectives and ways of doing things to the organisation.

Essential Experience, Knowledge and Skills
EXPERIENCE:
Essential:
- Writing engaging copy for a range of B2B audiences. We are a B2B organisation and you will need to write copy for a range of stakeholders including funders, partner organisations e.g. orchestras, venues, trustees and event attendees.
- Creating content for a range of social media channels. You’ll be creating content and monitoring our social media channels on a day-to-day basis and need to be as adept with Instagram as you are with LinkedIn.
- Film creation and editing. You’ll be creating new episodes for our regular Tea Break series on YouTube.
Beneficial:
- Data management and analysis. You’ll be working with Google Analytics, Mailchimp, Hootsuite and Survey Monkey as part of the role. We can provide training in these tools if you need.
SKILLS:
Essential:
- Attention to detail. Accuracy of content is crucial to this public facing role. As is the ability to input and analyse data accurately and spot trends and areas for improvement in our communications.
- Competency in Microsoft Office suite. Our systems are cloud-based and you will need to be familiar with standard online software programs from day one.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. You’ll be creating content for a range of tools and assets and need to be clear and concise in your communications style. Able to motivate and communicate, both face-to-face and in writing, with good influencing and relationship-building skills.
- Highly organised and able to manage constantly changing priorities and workload. At busy periods there can be many projects happening at once, requiring efficiency and confidence in deciding which tasks are most urgent and how best to do everything in the time available.
