Musical Journeys: A Day at the Pond / Mausam

In an enchanting series of short films, journey to the pond with Seetal and her friends and explore life at the pond through music and dance.

Musical Journeys: A Day at the Pond / Mausam is a brand new, multi-part digital musical resource for early years children.

Featuring an ensemble from Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment and South Asian Arts-uk and narrated by Seetal Kaur, children can immerse themselves in music and dance through the world of the pond.

The films introduce musical themes and concepts through an enchanting storyline written by Hazel Gould. Four bitesize films prepare the young audience for a final celebration performance, Rain/Barsaat, with a brand new commission for the unique ensemble written by Preetha Narayanan.

Musical Journeys: A Day at the Pond / Mausam is fully digital and designed to introduce musical concepts to young viewers at an enjoyable and comfortable pace.

The films are accompanied by a fully illustrated resource to guide teachers, practitioners and anyone who works with early years children in using the films to support creativity and music making in their setting. Creative activities for different age groups are included alongside a scheme of work that links into the early years curriculum.
