NewsNews Story
We’re delighted to welcome Alex Wincup to the team as maternity cover for our Production, Data, and Insights Analyst.
Growing up in the North East, Alex’s early musical experiences included playing bassoon with Tees Valley Youth Orchestras. He went on to study Music at the University of Manchester and as a postgraduate at the Royal Northern College of Music, where he now teaches piano.
Alongside his teaching, Alex has worked across the arts, culture and heritage sectors as a freelance evaluation consultant, supporting organisations to understand and evidence the impact of their work. His recent projects have included evaluations for music, heritage, education and wellbeing programmes, with a particular focus on how cultural activity can strengthen communities, improve wellbeing and create meaningful social impact.
Alex is especially interested in how data and insight can help organisations tell clearer stories about the value of their work, support learning, and advocate for the role of music and culture in people’s lives.
Outside work, Alex enjoys singing with The Sunday Boys, Manchester’s low-voiced LGBTQ+ choir. He is also a founder member and delivered projects as part of the choir’s organising team. When not making music, he can usually be found at the cinema or exploring Manchester by bike.
