Our Classically Yours partner wins IED Outstanding Impact Award
NewsNews Story
We are delighted that East Riding of Yorkshire Council, our co-producers of the Classically Yours programme, has won the Outstanding Impact Award at the Institute of Economic Development (iED) Annual Awards 2025.
The award recognises the Council’s work on the co-created Social Value Engine; a tool designed to measure and promote impact across its services. The engine was successfully piloted by assessing the impact of Classically Yours – our partnership initiative bringing high-quality live orchestral music to the East Riding of Yorkshire.
The Outstanding Impact Award
The Award recognises projects delivered and concluded in the last five years which demonstrate benchmarked evidence against other similar initiatives. Impacts could include environmental, social, business support, rural development, and regeneration.
The Social Value Engine has been used to evidence outcomes, secure funding, and champion social value across the Council’s services. The award panel cited the Classically Yours pilot as one of the most “outstanding outcomes” of the initiative.

Classically Yours & Its Impact
Classically Yours was initially developed to reach new audiences by addressing the lack of opportunity to experience live orchestral music in a region with historically lower levels of cultural engagement.
Over the years, projects and performances have engaged a wide range of groups from across the community including care homes, schools, county youth ensembles, community choirs and theatre groups. Groups have participated in creative projects and performance opportunities, with many engaging more than once.
The council’s award-winning Social Value Engine has now quantified the impact felt across the region, showing that for every £1 invested, the project generated £8.73 in social value.
Our Impact & Evaluation services support cultural organisations to better demonstrate the public value of their work through access to the Social Value Engine. Find out more here.
