We’re looking for someone who can deliver our data, impact & insight function to ensure that our use of data and insight is embedded across all areas of the organisation, helping us to focus our resources in the areas that need it most/will make the biggest difference.
You don’t need to have a background of working in the orchestral sector to undertake this role. We’re excited by people who bring different work and life experiences, perspectives and ways of doing things to the organisation.

Essential Experience, Knowledge and Skills
- Experience of using data to inform and support decision making, increase efficiency and maximise impact.
To ensure organisational resources and programme activity are directed where they can make the greatest difference.
- Understanding of and enthusiasm for the role of data, insight and evaluation in socially-focused cultural activity.
To inform interpretation and presentation of data within the social‑impact mission of Orchestras Live.
- Data management and CRM system proficiency.
To maintain accurate data systems and enable reliable internal and external reporting across programmes.
- Ability to communicate complex data clearly to colleagues, partners and stakeholders.
To support informed decision-making and ensure shared understanding of insights.
- Experience of evaluation development/survey building
To be able to tailor survey structures for specific requirements of OL projects, as well as respond to bespoke briefs for Impact and Evaluation Services.
- Ability to present data in meaningful, context‑sensitive ways that support decision‑making.
To help teams, trustees and partners translate findings into action.
- Clear, professional communicator capable of producing concise, unambiguous requests, and responses to requests, for information.
This is a two-way process and important that the postholder can ask clearly for what they need, knowing that we often work with different formats/types of data from the same activity
- Effective time‑management and prioritisation skills.
To manage continuing evaluation and business innovation requirements and recurring reporting cycles while also delivering year-specific tasks for 2026/27.
- Strong problem‑solving skills, including creative and lateral thinking.
To address data gaps, system issues and evaluation challenges as they arise.
- Financially literate.
To support analysis related to project budgets, forward-planning meetings and financial reporting cycles.
Beneficial Experience, Knowledge and Skills
- Knowledge of UK cultural and public/charitable sector infrastructure.
To understand sector-standard evaluation frameworks and reporting expectations.
- Understanding of arts and culture infrastructure.
To contextualise OL’s broader decision-making regarding allocation of resources.
- Understanding of Social Return on Investment (SROI) methodology
To support the delivery of Orchestras Live’s Social Value Engine services, including producing reports and upskilling clients/licence holders.
